Design Expert

DeskArtes Design Expert offers extensive 3D modeling and visualization functionality for professional industrial designers and product engineers alike. The finished geometries can either be sent to manufacturing using IGES or VDA file formats or photographic images can be generated with ExTrace ray tracing software.

A Student version is available for the Design Expert.

System Requirements

General:

  • PC with Intel Pentium/PII/PIII/PIV or AMD Athlon/AthlonXP processor

Operating System:

  • Windows 95/98/NT4/2000/XP

Memory:

  • minimum 256 MB
  • recommended 512 MB

Graphics:

  • minimum resolution 800x600 with 16-bit colors
  • recommended at least 24-bit colors and a graphics card which supports OpenGL
  • graphics cards based on ATI Radeon or NVidia GeForce chipsets recommended

Other:

  • Internet Explorer 4 (or higher) needed to view help files

Installation Instructions

  1. Copy the self extracting package "dade71.exe" to your hard disk.
  2. Start the installation by double clicking "dade71.exe". Press "Next" to continue the installation.
  3. Read the copyright text and the license agreement carefully before continuing.
  4. For Student Version license, an academic identification must be verified first. For more information on Student license email us at info@deskartes.fi
  5. Select the Directory where you want the software to be installed, use "Typical" setup type and accept the default Program Group.
  6. The setup is completed. Select "Launch DeskArtes Design Expert" to launch the program, and "Finish" to quit.
  7. To run DeskArtes Design Expert later, start the program from the Windows start menu, or from the shortcut on the desktop.
